Day 1: London/Johannesburg
Day 2: Johannesburg – over night stay
Day 3: Johannesburg/Pretoria/Mpumalanga - Head for Pretoria (Tshwane), then on to the famous Premier Diamond Mines. After lunch leave for the province of Mpumalanga for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Lowveld/Kruger - Explore Pilgrim’s Rest, the old mining village. Continue to the Blyde River Canyon through quite spectacular scenery and on to Kruger National Park for 2 nights.
Day 5: Kruger - Spend the day searching for the ‘Big 5’ and enjoying the beauty of the African bush. Game drives in open safari vehicles can be taken before breakfast and late afternoon for the best chances of sightings.
Day 6: Swaziland – enjoy an enchanting drive to the tiny Kingdom of Swaziland. Witness a Swazi cultural experience before visiting the famous Ngwenya Glass Works. On to the capital city of Mbabane for an overnight stay.
Day 7: Kingdom of the Zulus – continuing on into Zululand, passing traditional round huts and endless vistas. Arrive mid-afternoon in St Lucia, home to hippo, crocodile and over 350 bird species. Spend the night at a lakeside hotel.
Day 8: St Lucia/Durban - Cruise on the lake before departing for Durban for an overnight stay.
Day 9: Durban/Port Elizabeth - Transfer to the airport for a flight to Port Elizabeth. On arrival the journey will take you via the glorious Tsitsikamma Forest, to the lovely town of Knysna for a 2 night stay.
Day 10: Knysna – Cruise on the vast lagoon and visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve.
Day 11: Knysna/Oudtshoorn - This morning embark on a nostalgic steam train journey aboard the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe. Enjoy the spectacular views en route to Oudtshoorn. Visit the ostrich farm and the famous Cango Caves. Overnight in Oudtshoorn.
Day 12: Hermanus/Cape Town – A day of magnificent vistas as you head for Cape Town. During the whale season (July-November) travel via the seaside village of Hermanus in the hope of catching a glimpse of the Southern Right Whales. Stay in Cape Town for 3 nights.
Day 13: Cape Peninsula – A full days touring the ruggedly beautiful Cape Peninsula, stopping at the fishing village of Hout Bay. Carry on to Boulders Beach for close encounters with penguins.
Day 14: Cape Winelands - Journey into the beautiful wineland country. Taste some of South Africa’s finest wines during stops at estates in Paarl and Stellenbosch.
Day 15: Cape Town - London Transfer to airport for flight home.
Day 16: London - Early morning arrival.
