Western Australia
Western Australia is the country’s largest state, covering one third of the continent. Dominated by desert to the east, its west coast is bounded by 12,500 kms of the world’s most pristine coastline. The state offers remarkable natural phenomena, including the mounds of the Bungle Bungles shaped like beehives as well as beautiful scenery, wineries, stunning beaches, coral reefs, deserts and Australian Outback. With its sunny climate and nearly year-round blue sky it is not surprising that many visitors return time-after-time.
Perth, the capital city of Western Australia is a picturesque city located on the banks of the Swan River. Vibrant and lively, it is full of shops, malls and restaurants. Northbridge, just north of the city is the place to head after sunset with its buzzing bars and cafes. Half an hour from Perth is the busy seaport of Freemantle full of museums and historic buildings.
The Coral Coast is a treasure trove of national reserves, beaches, exotic marine life and blue, blue ocean. You can swim with the world’s largest fish, the whaleshark, see the dolphins at Monkey Mia, snorkel from the beach to stunning Ningaloo Reef and take in the unique rock formations of the Pinnacles.
The south western part of Western Australia is an area of contrasts from towering forests, to whale watching, world class surfing to fine food and wine.
The north western part offers one of the world’s last true wilderness areas where you can take a 4WD adventure into red-earth country, a scenic flight over magnificent waterfalls and extraordinary rock formations or cruise through inland waterways.
