Garden Route Wonderland
Day 1: Cape Town/Oudtshoorn – Early departure from your Cape Town hotel. Travel via the town of Montagu on Route 62 to the pretty village of Barrydale for a tea stop. Then on to Oudtshoorn known as the ‘Feather Capital of the World’ thanks to its huge ostrich industry. After a tour of the ostrich farm, go underground to marvel at the ice formations in the Cango Caves. Overnight nearby.
Day 2: Oudtshoorn & Knysna – Drive via the spectacular Outeniqua Pass to the town of George and onwards onboard the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe, a nostalgic steam train, to Knysna. From there, continue to the popular seaside resort of Plettenberg Bay. Continue to the ‘Garden of Eden’ forest for a leisurely walk before returning to Knysna for a two night stay.
Day 3: Knysna – Enjoy a cruise on the vast lagoon and visit Featherbed Nature Reserve.
Day 4: Cape Town – After breakfast head back to Cape Town via Swellendam and Hermanus, which has earned international fame as a place from which to spot the magnificent Southern Right whale during its breeding season.
